Lenny Kravitz: SAP Arena Mannheim, November 5th 2011
It speaks for an artist if he can fill a setlist with real greatest hits - and still you would've wished for 3-4 other songs of this caliber. So did Lenny yesterday night (and included only 4 songs from his latest album). The setlist was well chosen by starting with rockers like "American Woman" or "Always On The Run", a midtempo part in the middle ("Stand By My Woman", "Believe", "Fields Of Joy") to then rock out towards the end ("Fly Away", "Are You Gonna Go My Way"). The band was very tight so there was a lot of fun and passion.
What I liked most was the encore coz Lenny chose to play 2 songs acoustically before he ended the concert with a very long "Let Love Rule". It seems he always does that "going into the crowd" during this song coz he also did it in Anaheim and also when I saw him in Stuttgart about 4 years ago.
Superb concert. Pretty good crowd as well.
