The Worlds Fastest Lego Mindstorms RCX Speedcubing Robot. Built entirely from lego elements with a lego web camera to scan the faces of the cube, The solve engine (algorithm) running on the computer is provided by the incredible "Cube Explorer "software which also provides the colour recognition required to determine the exact location of each coloured square. Thanks to Herbert Kociemba for making his work available to anyone wishing to use it! Respect! "Cube Explorer" has the ability to produce very fast solutions to a successfully scanned cube, usually around 20 face turns! Doesn't sound a lot , but it has been proven that 20 turns are enough to solve ANY 3x3x3 cube combination. Special thanks to David Gilday for his assistance with the software interface to "Cube Explorer."

  • the solve in 10 sec. were just 21 steps, so the cube isn't random or you discovered the method to solve the cube in around 20 steps. the machine is nice but the solving is fake!

  • @TheSmetsi Sorry, the cube was only 20 moves from solved, unfortunately it is impossible to scramble any further

  • There's another Cube Stormer, and it solves cubes even faster. Although this cubestormer is aesthetically better...

  • @alchemistEXE2 Thanks, I think when you see the whole machine you may change your mind however, I put more time into the asthetical apearance of CSII than i did for CS1, l hope to release another video of CubeStormer II on my channel sometime soon.

  • HAve you tried doing the same desing only with a 4 sided cub?

  • @Brandson1000 I have tried to focus on the standard 3x3x3 cube, mechanically it could solve a 2x2x2 with a change of software, a very good friend of mine has devised a single machine which can solve all kinds of different cubes...check out "IAssemble" 's channel here on YouTube!

  • @TheSmetsi Every single possibility of the 43 quintillion ones in a rubik's cube (besides solved) can be solved in 20 moves or less. I remember watching a video and Google lended the use of their super computers to find that number.

  • There's always some retard proclaiming everything to be fake because they're too ignorant to understand what's going on.

Awesome machine, it even looks great.

  • Cool

  • @londonjimbob You mean 5.38. Is what Feliks Zemdegs got it 2011.

  • human - 6.24

  • I wish I could make one of these

  • i remember when the lego's were just blocks

  • @madcatdotexe I think you might be underestimating the complexity of the task of finding the least number of moves. Have a look at cube20(dot)org to see the work that people have done over the last 30 years or so to determine that the worst case is 20 moves. I believe there are very few algorithms that have been developed that can find such short solutions in a reasonable time.

  • Think nerds are bad?

Well look at this magnificent invention.

  • @TheSmetsi

The solving could easily be possible using a tree solving method which would calculate the least number of moves nessisary to solve the cube. Since calculations per second on computers these days are so fast, it makes more sense to do it that way. My bet (guess) is you can solve any cube in 30 moves or less. No matter the scramble.
