The kogyil is the funeral xylophone of the Birifor people who live in northwest Ghana, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. Ba-ere is the nephew of the late gyil master Kakraba Lobi. This was shot by Valerie Naranjo a few days after his funeral which took place in the family seat at Saru, Ghana.
