@Vysero This concept is also in al-Qur'an, but clear evidences show this is in the context of either defense or opposition of tyranny. e.g. Islam mandates peace with those who would not fight against the Muslims and forbids returning harm with a greater harm, etc.

Maybe you could explain: (2:216) (8:38-39) (8:65-67) (9:5) (9:29) (9:123) (47:4) Hmm? Or, even better, explain why Muhammad himself killed so many to spread his religion?

@Vysero I explained in detail in comments but briefly 8:39 refers to Muslims fighting against those who take arms against them. Seems too few realize early Muslims had been boycotted and left in a valley for three years simply because they told the Quraysh to stop worshiping idols and worship Allaah alone. The Quraysh cut some Muslims in half, buried others to the head in the sun, took their homes, etc. One fight in alQuran refers to a battle between 300 Muslims attacked by 10,000 Quraysh.

How can you say that cutting off someone's limbs is self defense? How have they brainwahsed you into thinking that? They've gone beyond self defense. Muhammad was an animalistic demon. I don't respect demons, and you need to stop worship one. And you need to leave that demon doctrine called the hadith and Koran alone. It is never right to cut off someone's limb. You throw them in prison. Islam is the mose depressive, oppressive, repressive and suppressive nation, violates freedom.

@songwriter4artists Hypothetically, five men have come to rape/murder Robert's mother. Robert holds a sword and stands between the men and his mother. What would you have Robert do? Cut the men's shoelaces? Quraysh were brutal to Muslims, killing and torturing them like putting huge rocks on them or burying up to the head and leaving them out it 100+ degree heat. Believers were sawed from head to toe because of their belief. Today's Muslims love this life too much or forgot their religion.

Thing to know is, most of the verses in the Quran relating to the situation when Islam began to grow (contextual). Overall background including having to face the cruelty of pagan rulers. muhammad was a 7th century warlord using religion as an excuse to gain power and lands. and those aid workers beheaded by your kin? self defence? i mean why are muslims so infactuated with violence? and dirty shameful violence too. if there are so many muslims of the world who think terrorisim is so bad and wrong, why dont they jihad against it? its bringing islam into disrepute after all...
