You're in los angeles?!?!? more specifically Nokia Live??? That's awesome! how long are you in L.A. for? As much as I like the modular setup that you use, I prefer to travel as light as possible. The lowepro exchange messenger is a cheap and affordable bag ~$27 and is more of a lens drop bag than anything else. Memory cards and camera batteries are the only other accessories that come with me.

I looked up the Lowepro exchange messenger. Appears to be a very good bag. Very similar to the Domke bags that I love because they have minimal padding and they collapse to be very small once you take the gear out.

I found out wearing a fishermans vest with its multitude of pockets in various sizes works out sweet. No straps to tangle up, no protruding pouches to snag up on. With all those bags and pouches you wear I can't help but feel you would be a pick-pockets dream especailly in a packed crowd. D7000, 17-55, 35-70, and my cheapo 50mm 1.8 covers 95% of my situations.

@erics1959 I used to wear a photo vest in the 90's before I started using zoom lenses. It was common for me to carry 2 Nikon bodies, a flash and a 24mm, 28mm, 35mm 50mm and 85mm or 70-200mm and a lot of film in the vest. I had about 5 photo vests -both black and grey. Eventually I started to not like the look of the vests. It made me look like an outsider on the set of the music video or whatever I was shooting. And, when I started using more zooms, it was totally unnecessary.
