It's a bit ridiculous to say that Yorke has "far surpassed Neil Young." Without people like Neil Young, there couldn't have been a Tom Yorke. This whole "newer is better" routine is naive. Young is one of the seminal figures in rock. Nobody will ever surpass him. Fortunately, they don't have to. All they have to do is learn from him and then be themselves. That's how it works.
