  • Just saw the blu-ray of this documentary. Really beautiful job done on the clips. It was fun to see if I could guess what movie the clips were from.

  • Oh I saw a presentation by the filmmakers. Regarding copyright, see "Fair Use Doctrine". And get a good lawyer first.

  • @shaggycub Thanks for your post. The DVD of These Amazing Shadows will be released by PBS Video in fall 2011. We're currently available via Video On Demand through Comcast, Bright House, Time Warner, Cox and Cablevision. Use the Menu> Search> On Demand Search> type in These Amazing Shadows...then view.

  • @giantleappictures I just saw it at a theater in Boston, so I think it is getting at least a limited release-I can't imagine that it won't see a home video release, but then again, with all the film clips involved, who knows what kind of copywrite hell this film may end up stuck in.

  • @dhuniya108 : That clip is from "Topaz", a home movie filmed by a resident of the Topaz War Relocation Center in Utah during World War II. As far as I know, it's not available commercially, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

  • what film was the clip @0:33 of that oriental woman with a baby from? thanks

  • I watched this tonight at the Cleveland International Film Festival. This was brilliant! Just a fantastic piece of work. I do hope this sees a release of some sort because I would love to add this to my vast movie collection. This should be required viewing for film/communication students in college.

  • Wow. great clips,
