  • I'm creating a floor made of records. Someone suggested I do this to cover and protect them. Is this strong enough for people to walk on? will it scratch bad??

  • @KayVionMusic This is certainly a great idea! but you would have to purchase FLOOR QUALITY RESIN, can be purchased in the hardware store with the paints/spray paints.

  • Now, is this just for oil paintings? And it's to basically protect them right?

  • @campsterman2010 That was an acrylic painting. I just did it to make it appear to be under glass. There really is no function for this. I actually WOULDN'T do this over an oil painting unless that painting has been drying for OVER 2 years or more!

  • @MonicaReally Someone recommended for me to put resin over my oil painting to protect it. I just haven't done any research yet to see if it does protect oil paintings. And it's been drying for just about a year now. I do have an acrylic painting that I might try this on...hmmm

  • @campsterman2010 You should totally try it! It's a really fun and great technique, but you WILL get colours bleeding with an oil painting, unless, like I said it's been drying for over TWO years at the very least. Oil doesn't cure fully until about 2 years or more, even if it feels dry to the touch. Wouldn't want you to resin an oil, and then have all the colours run! No fun :P Good luck
