Very interesting as usual. Religion is a crutch, the opiate of the masses. Wether you arrive at a conclusion using Religion doesnt give it a higher qualification than arriving at it from a Scientific point of view

I meant to mention that people like Parmenides performed exactly this type of function. Priest of Apollo, Iatromantis, Ouliades, etc.

Thanks for telling me about this video. It's a good one. One of the things that is common to many early religions is a shaman/law-giver. My understanding of how dreamwork may operate is that our subconscious minds are incredible computers that have millions of years of experience with the natural world. To tap into this level of awareness with an information goal is the job of this type of priest. Thanks.

Good video, makes me think again after seeing to many fundamentalist believers that are constantly highlighted in the media... Live and let live still applies. As long as other people know that their freedom and where mine starts (and vice versa), it's all ok by me. Still, the major religions have some problems on this point if they get into politics and want to implement their believes through law or such, because their scripture says to spread the word. Then it's getting tricky.
But somehow todays common religions did not evolve fundamentally for at least 15 century. So unfortunate for the sake of humanity.
For the pragmatic side of the religion, science can also be seen as a religion. It gives some people peace, spirituality in some sense, and it is the most pragmatic way to live.
I have 2 questions for you to think;
-Do we need more scientists to create a better environment for life?
-Does religious indoctrination reduces the chances to become a scientist?
