  • I already live where bars close before 2am.

    Its either bars or bootleggers.

And selling booze after 2am is a serious trade violation in some states.

  • ...

People have to keep in mind ITS A TRIAL. I really hope it has good results. Its disheartening that people refuse to give it a chance.

  • in response to Bellis

that is shit as. I can understand how mad you would be, I've had a shit situation turn horribly too (unrelated to the lockout). I'm not sure that Brumby is all to blame though!

    A few points..

People argue over cabs all the time for starters.

Fights happen all the time in the city.

The problem is this person who acted completely irrationally. Because he let his frustration out rather than kept in, or under control!

  • it's not COOL.. to be out..at this time.. theirs other things.. like a party bus ride? or u just get bored of the club and want to goto another one..

  • good to see something work up there ( incl people) lol

  • 'young girls can get raped or assaulted'

' boys will get into violance'

    what the ? ..

so let me get this right, if your out on the street by 2am at the latest, one is more vunerable than being on the street at 4:30 am ? mmm

i think there's more to worry about in Victorian politics that this misc debate that serves only the minority of unorganized people in Melb.

    Plan your night earlier then

or maybe it's just COOL to be out at this time.. bit like a teenie wanting the front seat

  • Does anyone now the name of the song?

  • Oh well what can you do, culture changes around circumstance and vice-versa. By all reports from the media and the police they are loving the results, and if it works for them in the long run, everyone will have to make it work for themselves. I dont particularily like this law either, but hey, suck it up and dont leave your run too late.

  • Read original comment by myself first;

... abuse myself and my friend. Then, extremely unprovoked and out of nowhere, the unknown man promptly punched my friend square in the face. Suprised of this cheap hit, my friend feel straight backwards using his arm to break his fall. This caused his lower arm to break (broken 'Ulna'). And at the perfect timing just before his uni exams. Well done Mr Brumby. And I can only see more of this situational and frustrated violence occurring in the future.

  • I am angry and saddened by this lockout. On saturday night myself and a friend from Tasmania went out on the town. Went to go to Arcadia at approx 1.35am. Waiting in line until 2am and thus couldn't get in (fair enough by the bouncers, the law's the law). Same happened to many others in the line. Upon hailing a cab to leave, a disgruntled patron demanded he gets in the cab and promptly pushed my friend out of the way. I voiced my disagreement. Drunk and anger fuelled, he proceeded to swear and..
