It's been a long time coming (both this review and, originally, this set). So let's see what exactly is in the coveted Blade Runner Collector's Edition Briefcase set!

@Zaranyzerak I was wondering whether you know if the Theatrical edition of Blade Runner has been altered in someway with CGI? I mean like removal of wires or matte lines? I hope not.

@IsaacBTTF No, the only version that has been altered in that way is the Final Cut. The earlier cuts are true to their original presentations, warts and all.

Does this have more content than the Ultimate Collector's Edition? I'm looking to buy one of the Blue Rays but I don't know which has the best of both quality and quantity.

@mrchiledonut I have no idea what the Ultimate Collectors Edition has, I've never heard of it. I've never seen any edition of Blade Runner that has more content than this set. There was a Special Edition boxe set of Blade Runner released a few years ago, but it was just the Director's Cut (barebones, no extras) with some lobby cards and a lithograph film frame. This edition gives you FIVE cuts of the film, and hours upon hours of extras that have never been released in any other edition.

I've waited for this to be released for over 6 years... When I heard about it was finally coming out, it was like a dream come true! The only boxset I own, but stays the BEST for me. Very completed, and with some features that only value this edition. As a HUGE fan of Blade Runner for over 22 years, I can only say that this do not desappoint, even the hardest to content fans!

I've got this briefcase in Blu-Ray special limited edition (Only Blu-ray and HD-DVD in Europe) and the 5-Disc limited collector's edition in DVD, but it came inside a Tin Box, without the unicorn origami and police spinner. Still my #1 Movie of all times!

Blade Runner turns 30 this year (2012). It is an amazing box set. They gave it a good treatment. I suppose it stands to reason since the movie has continued to grow in stature as the greatest science fiction film ever released. Yes - it even tops 2001: A Space Odyssey in some 'greatest' lists. I saw the film in theaters in the summer of 1982 and I thought it was destined for high esteem - yes, even then. I even kept the movie mag I got at the theater you pick up when you get your ticket.
