ROCK DANCE HISTORY: The Untold Story of Up-Rockin' = trailer.mov

This clip is a trailer for my video production titled, ROCK DANCE HISTORY: The Untold Story of Up-Rockin'. This historical piece documents the truth about one of NYC's foundational Hip Hop & urban dance forms known as Rockin' (later reffered to as Up-Rockin'). There has been much controversy regarding the creation of this dance form and it's earliest pioneers and legends. Part of my inspiration for producing, recording, editing and directing "ROCK DANCE HISTORY: The Untold Story of Up-Rockin'" was because of the constant denial and lack of respect by certain Brooklyn dancers and their misinformed students regarding the history of Rockin'/Up-Rockin' in the Bronx and Manhattan in the early 1970s. After almost ten years of debating with some of these individuals, I finally interviewed first generation Rockers from these boroughs so that the truth can be known straight from the original sources themselves. As I continue to video record interviews and edit this work it has become quite clear to me that the subjects in "ROCK DANCE HISTORY: The Untold Story of Up-Rockin'" are about to challenge the history of Rockin' presented by Brooklyn thus far. This video production will finally set the record straight regarding the true history of Rock dance. The final edit is close to completion, however, I thought I'd release this very brief trailer/teaser for the time being. I am eternally grateful to the Creator and Sustainer of all that exist for allowing me to be part of this long awaited and ground breaking historical documentation.
