  • No, regular magnets just aren't strong enough.

  • there is a reason why you should loop them into semi circles in the bottom. Its so they stay on.

  • try Hardware stores or buy a cheap flashlight that you shake to charge and take it apart.

  • Can you use copper wire for this? Or does it have to be regular?

  • No the magnet does not need to be any particular type, as long as there is a conductive surface for the wire to touch. If you have a non conductive magnet, put a penybetwene the battery and the magnet and have the wire touch the quarter
