On May 21, 2011, ACCA held the first annual Ms. Senior Athens Pageant, an event celebrating the beauty and vitality of older women. The evening consisted of a cocktail hour, silent auction, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and the pageant. Liz Dalton and Doc Eldridge hosted the evening as the Masters of Ceremonies, with Keith Heard, Chuck Jones, Barbara Smalley, Sherri Goggin, and Kathy Keith serving as judges. Kyshona Armstrong and Richard Hoard provided the evening's entertainment.
The winner, Ms. Annette Barfield, will be spokesperson for the Athens Visitor's Bureau focusing on aging in our community and the benefits of retiring in Athens.
