In that case, you're referring to Professor Gerald Robotnik, not the Dr. Ivo Robotnik from Sonic Adventure 1 on back.

@Groudon0199 the real name is Ivo Robotnik, but Robotnik is for the Japanese game and anime, Eggman is only for some games and American anime.

I'm aware of his real name. However, he was always referred to in the Japanese games as "Eggman." He was nicknamed "Eggman" by Sonic and the others, which stuck with him. SEGA of America localized his name as "Robotnik" before going with "Eggman" starting with SA1.
