Yep, that's one of those cheap mics. I got the set with the large diaphragm condenser and the skinny "pencil" condenser together for about $100. They work okay. For the vids, I use both mics, route them into a small Mackie board with effects and crank the reverb, then into the computer. That gives it a more "live" sound, even though the compression software takes away some of the presence later on. Overall, much better than just singing into a camera or webcam with a built-in mic.

Beautiful, clear rendition of this classic. Great job. I'd say, though, the song's about more than just a boat traveling around the islands. The song was written by the wife of a sailor who crewed on the steamer Mauna Loa. She's discussing his generous habit of sharing 'aloha' with women along his ports of call,...and what it's like to be at home wondering if(or with whom) he'll return.
