Gnome Shell 3.3.2 on Linux Mint 12 is an improvement of sorts. This movie is a continuation of my earlier one on Linux Mint 12 with Gnome shell 3.2. When you compare both you'll easily see the differences. The agility is improved. This goes fast indeed.
Gnome shell 3.3.2 is available for testing and download.

Security: to prevent confidential documents in Search (Recent Items), do:

sudo chattr +i recently-used.xbel To reinstall Recent Items, do:
sudo chattr -i recently-used.xbel Note the + and -i sign in the commands.
Dropbox content isn't listed, data in/on it is secure.
Recent Items are in Home: ./local/share/recently-used.xbel that may be removed.
Otherwise you might get the 'surprises' that I very briefly show when searching! This is a weak spot in Gnome!
Enjoy testing!

  • Swarrior: see to find "Logout" in the menu, do that. You'll see the "log-in" window, where you put your name NOW TAKE CARE: to the right, but just above your name is a wheel-symbol. Click on! Then choose the GNOME session, press return and you are with me! With a program, DCONF (in Other of the menu), you can set Extensions etc. etc. See my website in the Comment to the movie.

  • Nice porn john :D

  • Don't like how going to the Docky settings looses the background

  • @swarrior216 I think you are using GNOME Classic. Logout, click on the little gear icon, and select GNOME. Log back in, and see if that works.

  • @TheComputerSage I meant to spell it like that. Look it up on Urban Dictionary

  • @Fuzz944 LOL YOU SPELL BAD

  • I installed Mint 12 and it doesn't look like that. I don't have the menu like you have. It says Applications and Places on top. I'm also new to Linux.

  • isn't this fallback mode..?

  • Such beautiful !

  • This is how Linux Mint 12 with gnome 3 should be distributed. I upgraded from Mint 10, and I'm going back to 10 again. The out-of-the-box Mint 10 is way better than 12. In 12 we have the old menu in the bottom, the new one on top, no hide menus, if you go to MATE, you don't have a lot of things in the menu (battery is absent, no monitors, no.... ARGHHH).
