CNN reports on the fireball that fell during a marathon in Austin, Texas.
Sparks were still coming from it at tree level, so I would guess that it hit the ground!

  • It was a meteorite (L6 chondrite to be exact). specimens of this fall are available to collectors on ebay - search in the category: * Collectibles > * Rocks, Fossils & Minerals > * Meteorites & Tektites

    "West Texas" or "Ash Creek"

  • Hey, that's more interesting to me than man made space junk! Prompted by your comment, I searched for "Ash Creek meteor" and was very surprised by the asking price of the meteor fragments.

  • Atleast Austin's downtown isn't filled with forclosure buildings. Dirt weed? yea maybe in most of Texas but Austin and Houston has shit that's frosted with THC.

Get over your bankrupt state and celebrity Governor. The Californians I work with who moved here recently say there's alot of stuck up douche bags like you. You guys in san diego drive like idiots as well. It sounds like you all have something stuck up your ass.

FUCK YOU IM FROM TEXAS BITCH

  • lived in Austin for 10 years...great town, good people...like San Francisco...but in Texas.

  • Austin! Im relocating from Queens!

  • fake and gay

  • its goku and vegeta!

  • @WestCoastMethod I'm not saying its a bad city I like many parts of it. The budget deficit is as high as California however and the foreclosures in suburbs like Cedar Park and Hutto are hitting 1 in 50 levels in a months time. I predict Austin is going to have 5 years of struggles. Dropping home prices, unemployment, budget issues, etc. You say everything is going to be rosy. We differ I guess we'll both sit back and see what happens.

  • @Silvertrine Seriously....you just pissed your city has ain't doing as well as ATX?

  • @Silvertrine Austin has been consistently voted in the best top 5 large American cities to live in. Besides the capital, we have more live music per capita than any other city except NYC. We have UT as well as a large tech industry. We were also voted best for employment and best city for singles in the USA. Our neighborhoods aren't nearly half empty like Michgan or Cali. If anything, we're more concerned about our outdated highway system for a city that's growing very fast.
