Written by Bill Monroe and Grammy Award winner Peter Rowan, "Walls of Time" has become one of Rowen's most popular numbers. As performed at Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park in Beam Blossom, IN by members of Monroe's Bluegrass Boys band: Roger Smith (fiddle) and Dwight Dillman (banjo), along with Nathan Truitt (guitar and lead vocals), Ron Potts (bass), and Mike Butler (mandolin and tenor vocal), Rowen's lyrics reveal powerful emotions and a strong faith. Surprisingly, the song uses only two chords throughout to convey the haunting story of lost love.

  • "Surprisingly, the song uses only two chords throughout ".......This song has 3 chords in the structure and now Rowan plays it with 4 chord structure.

The basic chord structure of Wall of Time is I-IV-V as recorded my Monroe.
