  • Since you used the analogy of money, I was hoping you carried that throughout the addition problems. So you used pennies for the ones place, dimes for the tens place, you might have considered using dollar bills for the hundreds place and ten dollar bills for the thousands place etc ... Although the other forms of US currency ignored might be confusing, or perhaps can be used to help teach other concepts, such as fractions, such as quarters, and half dollars.
