Just a quick video on how to model a simple car grille in SketchUp. This same technique can be used to model more advanced grilles but that involves a more detailed mesh, I have just used basic slats an a very simple mesh. Note: This same process can be done much faster with the plug-in "Joint Push/Pull"

  • Just pasted in place the group of faces I had created earlier. The faces can be of almost and shape, be it mesh like on most car grilles or bars, etc

  • what did u do at 0:18..??

  • I had modeled the faces prior to placing them in model. They were evenly spaced to allow for a clean set of bars for the grille.

  • hmm i cant seem to understand ur first steps... how did u create that plane and cut it into pieces??? sorry but im a noob at sketchup :S im tryin to get the vertical grills for my evo :)
