I have loved DEVO since 1978 and lived what I thought they were saying. I express myself freely, help those around me and most importantly I refused to be forced into some robotron mold by corporations, politicians, priests or commercialism. Now DEVO endorses a government that wants to socialize the country, do away with free speech, and idolize a political piggy. I agree with AmericanDevo 100%, I too am confused by DEVO's politics. Get ready to assume the position, go into doggie submission!

This was October 2008. No one really knew what the new government's policies would be. Since Obama was elected (after this was recorded), Jerry's opinions have changed once again and he has spoken against many of his new programs.

I always thought I understood the message, but they now seem to stand for all the things they warned about. I never let anyone tell me what to do because I work to eat. I do not try to buy self-esteem by wearing some designer's name as status. Intelligent humans develop through the satisfaction of enjoying a fruitful end to their offort. Those who work more have more. A lazy lab money who expects others to pull the cord, climb the ramp and fetch the banana for him will starve. We must repeat.
