Lego 9 Volt Light and Sound system

Here I am demonstrating the features of the Lego 9V light and sound system which was released by Lego from mid 1980s to mid 1990s. The key feature of any 9V light and sound system is the 9V battery box, twin or single light bricks and siren.

The light have 2 modes depending on how you place it on the electronic plate with built-in metal contacts running through the plates. The first mode that the lights will blink alternately and the second is that both will light up without blinking.

The circular sound brick has 2 types of sounds, 1 police siren and another is the ambulance siren. The type of siren can be turned on or off by twisting the sound brick.

It is worth to note that this light and sound system shown are over 20 years old and still works like it was purchased back in 1989 (the lights) and 1985 (for the sound brick). The set shown is the 6503 Light System Construction Crew from the year 1989. The sound brick and white plates is from 6450 Mobile police truck from the year 6450.

I bought it online when someone was selling it on my local forum in Malaysia. This is not the only set with the 9V light and sound system; there are many classic town sets which has it.

I love the 9v system except for the motors' lack of torque. It's got super high rpms but almost no torque. I have two of those motors, one 9v micromotor, and even one 9v monorail motor.
