Donating Roberta the buffalo to a poor family in Vietnam - HD

Roberta the Water Buffalo was donated by Sandra and Robert Leach from the UK. Thanks to their generosity, Buffalo Tours was able to purchase a young buffalo for Vì Văn Khuy and her family from Cha Lang Village in Mai Châu, four hours from Hanoi, Vietnam.

Her husband, son and daughter died from disease, and she is left with only one, mentally ill and unable to work, son. The house they are living in is sponsored by the local community and their only income is generated from a 1.400m2 rice field. The water buffalo is necessary to plough the rice field and will make a world of difference to the family.

Vì Văn Khuy was selected as a buffalo recipient based on her extreme need and hardship by staff from Mai Chau Lodge in conjunction with the local village chief.
