El álbum Rainbow se editó en 1985, y en principio resulta raro ver tantos colores (los del arco iris) en un disco de Cash, siempre caracterizado por el negro. El álbum tiene muy buenas baladas country, de las que rescato Have you ever seen the rain (conocida también en interpretación de Creedence) y Casey Last ride, el último viaje de este célebre maquinista que fue Casey Jones. I love Johnny Cash, and this is cool to hear, but this is when he was kind of in an over produced phase with too much reverb on the vocals. Now, if there's a version locked away somewhere from the Rick Rubin era, I'd like to hear that. Still great to hear though.
