For travellers with a yearning to get off the beaten track, Intrepid opens up a whole new world. With a huge variety of travel styles available, Intrepid travellers explore the world's most amazing places - discovering real people, real cultures and having incredible real life experiences along the way.
You can do all of the above without paying someone to hold your hand. Go independently and you will be thankful. I went with Intrepid about 15 years ago and ended up leaving the group when I realised how limiting and sterilised the experience was. Get yourself free and see things for yourself, not hiding with a set group of scared people. Sorry if that sounds snobby, but it's from the heart.

I went on Intrepid Asia last year! We visited Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam which was awesome and was generally a great trip. Group travel has good points and bad points but its definately a great way to see the country!

Need some advice here. I'm planning to head to South east asia in October hopefully wit a mate. Flying to Bangkok and then getting Airasia to KL, Bali etc before ending up in Tokyo.
But need to know is it worth doing any tours out there? All the tours on STA, Intreprid etc are like £500+! which I think for asia is way too much. The one I want to do is BKG - Camb - Vietnam but yeah that's crazy prices...
Is it worth seeing Cambodia and Vietnam? they do look amazing. How best to go about it?
