  • wow, i never even knew their was a movie of the silver brumy!

    is it any good?

    Brolga is gorgeous tho!

  • yes!!! it's a FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!! i LOVE It you HAVE to watch it :)

    and go aussies!

  • So does Thowra die?

(oops i put the "r" in the wrong place in my name!!:P)

  • Well thats the big question isn't it? lol Lhenny4 is right, he never wanted to be caught he wanted to be wild and free, so he jumped off a cliff in the final scene of the movie- he would rather die than be caught by man. But did he die? SOme say he's a ghost or a phantom and that he still roams the countryside. Thats why in the movie the mother says if you listen to the wind you can here him. Thowra is the son of the wind

  • @horsecrazygal you should read the book he dosn't actually die when he jumps

  • @horsecrazey900 I have read the book :)

I just can't remember when I wrote that comment about him living or dying, but I was just sort of quoting from the movie, I said but did he die?

  • I can't help admitting the Brolga is a very handsome, beautiful horse, not ugly, and a very good Dancer, but I still love Thowra. And it really ruins the Spirit of things when you point things out like, it was a palomino mare... DUH! WE KNOW. You really don't have to point it out and ruin it! Just enjoy the movie, I think they did a wonderful job!

  • Actually, I meant while at the premiere with a whole lot of other pony club kids, we noticed that in some shots (of the whole movie), it was a palomino mare not a "creamy" stallion. Palominos were not that well known in Australia when the books were first authored. However, the odd "creamy" has been cropping up in brumby folklore for some time. I first heard about them from my Grandfather (an old bushman and horseman)

  • @horsecrazygal In the book he doesn't die. In the movie it's left up in the air.

  • @parmavioletsyum Thanks! :)

  • @Shardspirit Hi I know this is a late reply to your question. I have only just found this video. The books in order are: The Silver Brumby, Silver Brumby's Daughter, Silver Brumbies Of The South, Silver Brumby KIngdom & Silver Brumby Whirlwind.

My mom gave me Silver Brumby Kingdom for my 10th birthday, after reading that one I was obsessed and sought out the other books. I still have them somewhere....
