American dream is over (original song) Subtitles with CC
American dream is over. So, where we can go now?
The world is in big trouble. Pay attention, open your eyes.

I was born in the real world, a beautiful spring, a far southern country.
Uncle Jesse told me stories where the good ones always won.
I grew up with many heroes, they taught me about spirit, peace and freedom,
but a new time has come to show me now the other side of things:
i've seen the real people not so allowed to dream.

American dream is over
so, where we can go now
the towers still stand in our hearts (and now they say Bin Laden is dead!)
but we didn't choose to play "storm! off ! war!".

(what's going on general?)
ok you are free to engage,
we shall say "it's collateral damage"
how much can value those lifes?
no one will ever know what happened here.
And if you don't understand,
just think about the natural order:
the world rules are just what are,
the biggest people have the biggest dream.
it's been like this from the start,
it will be like this until the end:
some people talk about a freaky joke of peace,
but in this business peace just is time for rearming.

American dream is over,
so where we can go now?
There is an other big big trouble:
the billionaire club has stolen all.

We have seen the recent money crack has left without the job to many million of people,
and credit was a giant lie, you'll never own the house to play with your grandsons
the power men still play poker in the wall casino at the Manhattan's heart,
but neither uncle Bill nor uncle Slim, will share their fortune with you,
by the way, you are giving your money to people like them.

American dream is over
damn, it must have been the coolest dream,
but with the change of law in Arizona,
the "sheriff joe" got more latin people to kill. (what about those lost 99 million dollars?)

Someone can tell me "you are a comunist" (anything but that),
someone told it to uncle John,
i'll tell them i don't care about the politics,
any system got a nasty rotten corruption.
I have read about the other uncle
that used to say "i have a dream",
and i've heard the rich musicians singing loud:
"so let's start giving, you must pay the bill",
but i have seen the nobel prize of peace
saying "the world eventually needs war"
then, with or without the mayan prophecies
perhaps is better that volcano really explode.

American dream is over,
now, it's time to make a better thing.
let's try to make a better world,
the results are for all, not just for you and me.

I was born several years ago to sing and play guitar, now trying to change some options,
the good ones aren't in the rating but real people know who are them all.
it doesn't mean to build a lot of newer heroes locked in some expensive movies,
it means to start the real construction of the dream deserved by the real world.

I'd like to dedicate this song to the occupy movement around the world. Stop sopa.

This is not a political manifesto or a statement of principles. This is not wikileaks. This is not forbes. I hope twitter doesn't censor me. To my knowledge, Al Pacino is not a mafia boss or a blind military, Anthony Hopkins is not a cannibal murderer, even they interpreted these characters. In the same way I wrote this song, although I know that perhaps reflects the thinking of some people in "real life", I also could compose a song that says the opposite, something like "american dream is cool". Those who know me a little better, know that in certain cases I am beyond good and evil, far from the world. Perhaps it is precisely this distance that makes me feel with enough freedom to compose my songs.
