Cinesation is an annual film festival presenting rare, early 20th century films in an historic, restored 1916 movie theatre in Massilon, Ohio. It offers an opportunity for film enthusiasts to see rarely shown films as they were meant to be seen.
Cinesation also features a variety of speakers from The Library of Congress, The George Eastman House, The Library and Archives of Canada, and a number of private collectors.
The Great Lakes Cinephile Society is a non-profit organization created for the preservation and presentation of early 20th Century vintage motion pictures. Now in its 18th year, the organization is made up of cinephiles, scholars and film enthusiasts. ALL PROFITS from the Cinesation film festival go directly to the archives for film preservation.
The cost for the entire weekend is nominal and includes over 27 hours of film viewing as well as a year's membership in the Great Lakes Cinephile Society.
The weekend is open to anyone who loves old films. Why not start a new tradition and join us?
See you at the movies!
