dude, a knee to the face is almost a pleasure compared to some throws. Often in Muay Thai fights there is no protective equipment on fighters knees and elbows, and they still use them and keep on fighting. A good judo throw on a hard surface, without the mats can easily be fatal.

Would be easier if you gave the time at which it happened, but sometimes you can do a throw just by using your arms

Its the positioning of the wrist, the body goes where the direction of the wrist is going to prevent it breaking. The throw doesn't naturally happen the victim does it to stop the break.

my coach was an olympian. i'd take a a load of low kicks over just one of his throws. and this comes from a fighter in bjj,judo,muay thai, and boxing.
