  • I bought my Omega Speedmaster in South Vietnam at the 11th Cavalry PX in 1971. I still have it and it runs perfectly. Never had the case opened.

  • Everything youve just written has been proven beyond doubt to be false, they did walk on the moon.

  • @jdh91741 I love collecting watches & I have recently bought Omega Speedmaster, I love it & I hope it will last forever just like you own.

  • Legend President Kennedy!!!

  • The Omega Speedmaster is an icon. It is also one of the few classical mechanical chronographs in the world. Other brands (Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet, A. Lange & Söhne) have them also but only in precious metals that will set you back 40.000 + USD.

I hope Omega will put this movement in the De Ville series, which would be great for people who, like me, appreciate a polished steel case better. So fingers crossed that it will ever happen!

  • Epic

  • @JPCrespo I've been searching for the story on the internet. As I remember, the story was specifically about the fact the watch was a fake - no ifs, ands, or buts. I saw it about a year and a half ago. But I have only been able to find stories or blogs where it is discussed as possibly fake. However, I have the serial number of the watch and another webiste link that dates the watch as a 1965 watch. So I will go into your inbox and send you the info.

  • @0907oliv Interesting. Any ideas where I can find that story?

  • @JPCrespo You know some good history there. But I have heard that the Marilyn Monroe watch was a false story. That watch, based on its serial number, was actually manufactured in 1965 and someone faked an inscription on the back. I think someone was trying to sell it for a fortune when it got found out..

  • Cold War in full swing = Soviet Union vs U.S.A. competition at their finest!! >=)

  • my dad got a real one.
