Michael Savage - Marines Urinating on Taliban Deserve a Medal

Aired Jan. 12, 2012 - U.S. officials moved swiftly Thursday to try to prevent diplomatic damage and contain public disgust from the release of a video that appeared to show Marines urinating on three Afghan corpses — images that spread quickly around the globe.

Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta said he had viewed the video and considered it "utterly deplorable." He telephoned Afghan President Hamid Karzai and pledged a full investigation.

Prior to the call, Karzai described the video as "completely inhumane and condemnable in the strongest possible terms." His administration called on the U.S. military to "apply the most severe punishment to anyone found guilty in this crime."

The video, which runs for less than a minute, depicts four Marines in combat gear laughing and joking as they urinate on three male bodies. The caption refers to the corpses as "dead Talibans," but it is unclear whether the men were civilians or fighters killed after a battle.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton expressed "total dismay" at the behavior depicted in the recording, and said the "vast, vast" majority of American military personnel would not engage in such actions.

Michael Savage, the armchair warrior, needs to be sent to war. If we're really fighting Al Qaeda, why are we in Afghanistan instead of Saudi Arabia? (By the way, I have no criticism for the Marines or anyone who risks their lives overseas.)

Navy Corpsman veteran here. I served with 2nd Battalion 1st Marines. We as Americans should be setting an example for the rest of the world. Killing your enemy in war is of course justified, but by mistreating the corpses of the enemy (like they have done to us) shows that we are only as barbaric as the enemy. We should hold ourselves to a HIGHER STANDARD than the people we suggest are the bad guys. If our actions are indistinguishable from the enemy's, how are we better?

Please don't pee on the dead bad guys, I understand that war is extremely stressful you know getting shot at, bombed and watching your friends die but peeing on a dead body is something that Ted Bundy or Jeffery Domer does not a US solider.

The Taliban are Afghans, its their country. If Chinese Troops urinated on American Soldiers whilst occupying say texas, think how outraged America would be, and don't give me any of this crap that the Afghan people hate the taliban. 70% of Afghan people prefer the Taliban over Karzai and Western Occupation.

Well, does all the arguement, whether we have technology that brings it to the open or it is done in the dark (Height of hypocrisy), change the fact that what we are trying to achieve is a world where evil can be contained with good?

I don't think you can be more outraged on those Islamic terrorists than many of us especially those (Mainly, Christians) from various parts of African where their genocide terror is everyday reality.Yet we must fight just wars.
