New Generation of Solar Fresnel Lens

This is the new lens we have been working on. This UV resistant lens has a different surface opposite the Fresnel Side that actually transfers maximum light to the target. This lens is about 25% more powerful than a traditional clear lens.

Can you increase the focal point intensity even more by stacking? Can many fresnel lense be positioned at distances that would concentrate the light even more? Like stacking them one in front of the other. Would this cause damage to the second or third lense spaced in series? Thanks for sharing.

Additional lenses only shorten the focal length by half, the second lens dramatically absorbs the sunlight into the lens acrylic because the angles are different. The Second lens drops the overall throughput by 30% the focal point diameter is a bit smaller but much weaker.

If you stack 4 lenses your focal length drops to about 3 inches and it barely burns paper, thank you for the good question and for enjoying our videos:-)

How do fresnel lenses compare to parabolic cookers in terms of efficiency? They seem to be more powerful, maybe because more sunlight goes through plastic than is reflected from the metal. What size fresnel lense would you need to get same power as scheffler solar cooker?
