My friend VampyPink, http://www.youtube.com/misspinkers , has been 'cat sitting' for me and put together this video of them. They are cross-bred with wild Bobcats, hence no tails and BIG feet..... Porky Pig is the slimmer silvery male, and Maelona is the heavier tabby Princess : )

  • I was just wondering who told you they were bred with bobcats?

  • Hi, when I first got them, nearly 3 years ago, that was the information available at the time. However, Ive just googled the subject to check and I see that there is doubt about the Desert Lynxes genetic lineage...

The only thing Im sure of is that they are slightly bigger than most domestic cats, have extra claws and pads on each foot and have no tail. (And the breed comes from the USA)

    All the best.....Bazza : )

  • Is the snow a girl or a boy ??

  • Porky Pig, the male, is the Snow Bob..

    : )

  • can they jump really high?

  • Hiya.......l dont know if they jump higher than any other cats, but Porky Pig can really get some good height when he's chasing the local squirrels : ) They taunt and tease him as they are so fast and agile. Its great fun watching my cat being toyed with by playful squirrels......

  • @egroegartfart The Desert Lynx has traits of wild cats beacuse they are hybrids of Bengal, Pixie-bob, Chausie, and Domestic creation. They are just desinger cats.

  • They are a cool cat, that's for sure. I have 3 of them and an american bobtail. My bobcat has tried to breed with my american bobtail. but no results. lol. I have videos of all of them on my page also. Desert Lynx are really unique, and I do believe there is some wild blood in them somewhere down the line possibly. The bobbed tail most likely on yours comes from a manx gene somewhere in the line. Mine love the water just like a bobcat and can fetch. But yes. USA made. :)))

  • Yes, you are absolutely right. They are cracking down on breeders who claim desert lynx and pixie bobs have bobcat in them when that is totally false. It is just about genetically impossible for a domestic and bobcat to successfully breed and produce offspring. There have only been two cases ever of it actually happening in history by a freak accident. If they actually were bobcat hybrids they would be worth upwards of $10,000 or more. Your cats are beautiful though. They do have cooltraits

  • Why do they have 26 toes??? AND LUSH KITTY lol xx!!!!!!!

  • haha sounds fun
