Actually, there already exists an educational caste system in America. It offers up on ocassion like Obama's sucess story, a kind of Horatio Algier or multi-million dollar lottery winner, to assauge the middle and lower classes fear that "their" education is not really helping their children or grandchildren, a kind of financially separate but theoretically equal academic opportunity . In America it's legal to discriminate on the basis of education and wealth.

@MsAngel52 It's a choice that reveals their innermost attitude about public education and DC's in particular. It shows the hypocracy of Obama on public education, not that he is alone in this particular hypocracy nor is he the only celebrated politician who has abandoned America's public school systems. Another is Rahm Emanuel current Mayor of the City of Chicago. The monied elete abandon the public school system as soon as they graduate from the middle class.

The Obamas should NOT put thier children in private school unless they advocate school choice and vouchers for EVERYBODY.
