Heres my 1989 Sears Gamefisher 15 hp that I bought off craigslist for $25.00.The guy said it would'nt run after his "buddy tuned it up".Well, the sparkplug wires were crossed. It took me all of 5 minutes to figure it out.It runs like a dream and starts on the first pull now.I replaced the primer bulb, but I've rarely had to use it except once or twice when its cold in a test tank. I repainted it and put some home made decals on it.Just got it out for the first time this last week, for 4 days.(8-3-10 to 8-7-10 at the campground ).Its running on my old 1935 14' galvanized steel Starcraft boat.It pushes this heavy boat really nice.I'll be hanging on to this motor for quite some time.I know the electronic ignition is expensive and hard to find on these outboards.Hope mine lasts me for a long time!I love this motor!

  • A friend of mine has a machine that makes decals.I had to draw the design, from looking at a Gamefisher hood I saw on Ebay.It turned out pretty good, but not nearly as nice as the factory ones. You have to buy the whole hood(expensive),they don't sell just the decals for these.I used red spray paint on the sides, and stuck the white decals over that. And then sprayed them with clearcoat. It was fun and sure did make the motor look alot nicer.

  • Your decals look Good! If you want a Factory looking decal for about $20 just check on EBAY. Any of those decal guys can make you anything you want. FYI

  • i have this motor just 9.9, its a animal ;)

  • $25, what a steal!

Those home made decals look amazing, how did you do that?

  • Wow $25 is a good deal. I got an 88 but one coil went bad and I have not driven it in so long
