  • Nothing gayer then seeing a bunch of White men doing a Haka dance with their conquered slaves.

  • @MrVaepOr Yes haka for woman was vital. Maori women did not go to war as in (raiding party) war came to them in the form of home defense (Maori Pa). They were vicious fighters and sometimes merciless. Wahine (women) were extreme experts at using the patu or mere, a club made from greenstone or super tough wood. They kept their wrist supple by doing actions with a ball and string known as a poi. The poi is more common these days as a form of entertainment (performance) but its origin is for war.

  • sounds cool.

  • What an insult to say we women shouldnt be doing haka... Women have always done & been involved with Haka, a well known Womens Haka is from tha Ngati Porou Women, Ka panapana, we use to do this Haka when i was @ college as the Haka is based on an old boy that was the first Maori to recieve tha VC award who was killed in World war 1 which also has reference to Hitler.... Haka isnt about standing around looking dainty and pretty... if u want that.. go check out tha Hawaiian dancing..

  • woman shouldnt be doing the haka im sorry but they shouldnt.

  • The Haka has been invoked by maori warriors for centuries. And has also been invoked during modern war to give our warriors the strength to see there mission completed. Study our history - It was said Maori were born for the khaki uniform.

  • Hakas are amazing to watch, however, it is much better in native Maori dress vs military attire. This was still very interesting to see done here.
