You see, she is in fact a Wal-Mart executive looking for a new Wal-Mart facility to build another location. Notice her detail to looking at the edges of the highway in order to facilitate proper parking and good lighting. Wal-Mart does in fact put their stores near a highway. She is in fact also the Asian version of the Wal-Mart Empire now secretly operation out of Beijing. Don’t kid yourself, those flowers will be on the end aisle in less than a week at your local Wal-Mart. A Wal-Mart Greeter!

I think she's a hooker. She goes to the road at the end of the song. Sheryl Crow said that in this song she was portraying the fact that beauty some times has a wilder darker side to it. She could not be barefooted on the highway. The wild area looks like a wide open space but you realise at the end of the video it is not!
