PART 12
I look at myself in the water and then look ahead of me. I look up at Nick beside me, who stares right back, and then my heart beats faster and faster again. "So why did you wanna bring me here?" I ask sitting on the other rock beside him.
"Well I do some of my best writing in this area..." he replies.
"I can tell, it's very peaceful, it's like you're in a fairy tale, around nature and stuff," I explain breathing in the nature air.
"So what do you wanna do?" he asks.
"I don't know...why did you bring your notebook?" I ask him staring at the notebook.
"Well maybe if you'd wanna listen to my writing again..." he replies hesitantly.
"Of course!" I reply smiling.
"Good," he smiles big and begins to flip through his notebook.
"Oh how about that!" I exclaim pointing to a page that read "When You Look Me In The Eyes".
"You know that's a song right?" he tells me.
"No duh Nick...can you sing it for me?" I ask him.
"Ummmmm...my voice is uh-," he stutters.
"Chicken," I began to shout making chicken noises.
"Fine fine fine!" he exclaims and he clears his throat, "If the heart is always searching, can you ever find a home? I've been looking for that someone I never

"Omigosh Nick that was beautiful, who did you write it for?" I ask in amazement.
"For Demi actually..." he tells me.
"Demi?" I'm shocked.
"Yea, we used to be together..." he says quietly.
"Oh, I had no idea..." I reply looking down.
-----NICK'S P.O.V-----
Really smooth, Nick, just damn smooth. Selena sits on the rock looking down, why the hell do I have to tell her who I used to be with, especially when it's one of
her closest friends. It's awkward for a while, I get a stick and start carving things in the dirt, in the corner of my eye I see Selena placing with her bracelet.
"That's a cool bracelet," I say to break the silence.
"Thanks, I got it from my ex a few years back," she says.
"Ohh...," it becomes quiet once again.
"So why did you and Demi break up?" she says her voice kind of stuttering.
"I didn't really feel the same way," I explain with a shrug.
"I see...," she replies.
"So what do you wanna do," I ask throwing the stick to the ground.
"Well...I don't know, surprise me," she says looking up at me.
"Follow me," I say smiling and I leave the pond with Selena following me.
A few minutes late we arrive at the playground, I go to the swing sets and I see Selena smiling and following me.
"I didn't know you like going on the swings," she says laughing.
"Oh no you're going on the swings," I reply smirking.
"But that's so childish," she says staring at the swings.
"Cmon I'll push you," I say going up to an empty swing.
"Fine...," she sighs and sits on the swing and holds onto the chains.
I begin to push her, she's pretty light, she looks up at me a couple times and I push her harder so she goes more up into the air.
"Nick!! You're going to make me fall!!" she shouts and puts her to the floor making the swing stop.
"Wimp, you weren't even going that high up," I say teasing her.
"You're mean you know that!" she says pushing me.
"I guess I deserved that," I say with a laugh.
"So...how's being in the basketball team?" she says sitting on a slide.
"Well, Coach K says I need a B average to be on the team," I say holding onto monkey bars.
"What grade do you have now?" she asks.
"D...," I say quietly.
"Oh damn...that's um...wow," she replies.
"I suck in school," I tell her.
"I can tutor you," she suggests.
I smile and nod at her. After a few minutes we go back to our neighborhood. She walks up her steps and I wink at her, she smiles and goes inside her house. Well this day went...perfectly. I smile and go inside spinning my keychain that held my keys around my finger. Wonder if I should take Selena to the Winter Dance.
