This pattern was taken from "The Winners' Book of Video Games" by Craig Kubey, published in 1982 by Warner Books. It is supposed to work from the first Apple to the eighth Key. It was created by George Huang, Ed Bazo, and Tom Fertado. If you take the first letter of each of their names, you spell out G-E-T which is the name of the pattern.
The original pattern ended after eating the top part, and usually you have Pinky charging you there. I slipped on this play which made Pinky adjust his course slightly, allowing me to eat the dots on the right side as well.
This is a great apple pattern, a true classic. It's really easy to tell if you are off pattern before getting killed. In their diagram they show you going up after eating the 2nd fruit. On many (especially the 1 sec, and no blue time) boards that isn't the best way to go.
