  • The fact still stands that we all live with the effects of the past. Imagine you were filthy rich, someone took it from you and imposed a foreign law and culture on you and future generations. Then your grandchildren would still be without wealth, struggling to live, angry at the person who took their grandfathers wealth, then someone tells them the "issue no longer exists today". THE EFFECTS EXIST TODAY

  • as for your point, i see a point, but its quite a faint one. yeah we have a whole maori education system now, from babies to form seven. so what? eh? fuck is that a crime now too? no it aint, its part of a healing process. a reclamation of a culture, revival, renaissance if you will. its showing the gang members what it really means to be a maori. its not violence and hatred, no "its about whanau" aint you been watching those adds on tv? heneway, you been watching maori tv? choice eh? fuck yeah.

  • People here have commented about 'race' and 'racism' without first knowing more about this word and its implications. The word 'race' is of Western invention, and was used with particularly damning effects in the 19th century, to classify and 'organise' people into groups according to skin colours, hair textures, etc. The problem with the word 'race' today is, is that modern science has proven that 'race' is not real; it is merely a social construct with no 'scientific' or genetic validity.

  • WHATUNGARONGARO HEI TANGATA TOI TU TE WHENUA!
