@coydog0 Yeah, I know he's from Deeeetroit (doesn't get much more violent than that). I just enjoy razzing you Canucks cuz you're good sports about it.

Hmm, I never dealt with any of that. It probably helped that I was into martial arts and could kick most people's asses. I did have to back up a couple bullies picking on a kid with a with a Hulk lunchbox one time. Actually, a lot of kids got into comics when they saw how cool some of my stuff was. I even sold some of the comics I wrote and drew myself. Maybe violent hostility to comics is a Canadian thing.

@Stepper11 @Stepper11 Actually, Brian is American, and his story is the most violent! I think it depends on the city. Canada and the U.S. are (as far as I know) the ONLY countries in the world where comics are (or were) considered 'kiddie' fare, so maybe that's why?
We are from Windsor, part of the 'rust-belt' of North America, so there are (sadly) alot of close-minded, less educated people around here.

I tried to get my cousins into comics (going into grade 9 this year) and they said comics suck because you have to read. Reading is not cool, no matter what it is you're reading. Strange too, because they are into super hero movies and pro wrestling, and wrestlers are essentially comic books wannabes. My cousins didn't even know they still made comics!
In the 90s comics were cool only with geeks. 10+ years later, most kids still hate reading. Go figure.

@baeritukaez If kids want to group comics with novels, and dismiss them both because they have to "read" them, that's another issue altogether, and needs to be dealt with by parents and teachers. Truly scary! -Mike-EL
