  • @newstart2009 Any sign yet of this "unusual" version ofThe Island, with electric bass...???

  • Many, many thanks, obviously. "Yes please".

I guess I'll wait for good news!

  • The two PBS specials i have been looking for...for years now.. But the version you are looking for of "The Island" i can ask my ffriend ok???

  • That would be SO beautiful.

Of course the studio version of "The Island" is the totally essential "Crazy and Mixed Up" album, right? But what's described here sounds like something ALTOGETHER new to me.

Do please let's know if you make any progress.

In the meantime, obviously, an huge thanks for this Monterey concert (it has always eluded me), and still hoping to encounter "Listen to the Sun" and also the Emmy winning Gershwin TV concert w/Michael Tilson Thomas.

    Many thanks, always.

  • I will ask my friend overseas ok?? I have the studio version from 82..

  • any luck, please?

  • I have found the Bern one too, but there was another one. It was more funkly, with an electric bass even. It was a very colourful background. The video was just of 'The Island'. I hope you can help locate this! It was very unusual.

  • I believe the other version from 1987 is still up. from the Bern Festival. It did not dissapear you have to search for it.... and it was first recorded by her in 1982 (did you mean the studio version?)

  • PLEASE sir, There is another video version of the amazing Sarah singing The Island. Someone had posted before but it seems to have vanished. The instrumentation is different, a little bit more funky and a little more 70s! Do you have this version? I would love to hear it again. I hope you can help!

  • Superbe......thanks david
