Thunder Mustang 'Rapid Travel' take off

George Giboney takes off in his Thunder Mustang. You can really enjoy the sound of the V-12 engine as he heads down the runway. He applies the power in stages and it sounds like the engine's getting bigger & bigger as the RPM's increase.
You can tell this was in Canada as you can hear the person say 'eh' at the end of their sentence.

Anyways..So this is a different powerplant than the regular 51 correct?i.e. RR Merlin.

Good Day, The V-12 of the Thunder is made by Ryan Falconer and by pure coincidence works out to be an almost exact 3/4 scale RR Merlin to match the 3/4scale Thunder Mustang. The engine is only off of perfect scaling by a fraction of an inch. I was at the Reno air races today and saw him crash this plane. He was okay and was waving to the crowd. The plane was destroyed. He missed two f-18 hornets by probly 300 feet. Sad to see this beauty smashed up like that.
