Positive change begins at home. So when Dee Williams decided to change her life, thats where she started. In fact, she redefined what "home" meant, right down to what it was, and where it could go. A film by Mark Hoffman, presented by Nau.

  • I love this. But I'm curious about the toilet and water and how it works in her house

  • Love this.

  • @MsCampobasso This has nothing to do with being feminine or not. Just because she's older, and will only get older, doesn't mean she's helpless. If she can build her own house and be independent enough to do something like this on her own, I think carrying a propane tank and driving a truck will be the least of her issues.

  • I wanted to buy a house that is less that 1,000 square feet, maybe 400-600? Good luck. In Gilbert, AZ they won't allow you to build anything smaller than a certain footage. I love the smaller houses, and have been saying for years that we don't need a lot of space. Feng Shui. Smaller houses, less waste, more time for yourself because you're not paying a lot of money. It's what I can afford, though I wanted less.I do wish small homes would be the norm and not the exception.

  • being feminine has left so many of the female gender...what a shame. What she going to do when she gets to old to change the propane tank or drive her house around. Quite odd.

  • I love the idea, but it only works if you are living alone. What about living with a family... kids, etc? It's a little more difficult.

  • A great way to live that is becoming more popular. Living to pay a big mortgage, high utility bills and property taxes, and spending so much time doing maintenance on a large home isn't really "living." The time freed up by living a simpler life with more personal time is what life is all about. Every time I move, I get rid of more stuff. I think about all the boxes I have packed away and how much space I really use currently, and a tiny home makes sense to me. Soon...

  • wow i would love to live in one of those, so small and cozy.

  • This looks like a child's clubhouse.

  • This is so exciting! someone living within their means!

She can live in that thing, except for a small problem.

No running water, no shower or toilet.

This can be fixed, move into a mobile home or RV park that has this, but in order to be really practical it needs at least the basic services.
