  • Probably the reason songs/writing like this cause such reaction; is because it touches the deeper realms of the self. And those places are deep and sensitive and require a lot of serious introspection and quiet time. And getting in touch with that stuff is hard core, but it's the purpose for which we are here.

Poetry makes us think. It makes us think about what really counts in our lives.

    Thanks, Simon and Garfunkel

  • this was one of my Dad's favorite songs, i miss him so much! :(

  • @SacrificingHeart @lanceparker12 look into dan mangan, artist from vancouver. writes about things in and around the city, in a round about way. its good stuff.

  • @lanceparker12 hmmmm interesting - i hear you say that - ( find my self reading that comment of yours ) cozz you what / I am the songwriter who is like someone you asked for. But guess what ? none can hear me! Pitty , ha ?!!!!

We...hoping and hoping that one day - I`ll be heard. But, thank you for having the desire for that !

    ( Kosova / Eastern Europe )

  • people, we need to stop worrying about pop/rap/"permissible" music, the silence will take care of it. these people we bleat about, they know the signs they see the lines and they've heard the silence too. we can try to take that away from them (though you'll never succeed) but in doing so we would only create a cacophony worse than the staticfuzz they've created. let them run their course, their game. this music, is of course timeless and there should be no frets or buttons pushed except play.

  • @Eliasssx It got sampled and autotuned.

  • @lanceparker12 Yeah, now we have nickelback and kesha. baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarf

  • wow I played this and most of their other songs on my guitar back in the 70's.

    Great music !

  • Its a real shame that song writers like these don't exist today to write about whats going on in the world right now, We need more people who care and write songs that mean something to all of us, instead of the rap/pop flood we have right now

  • @Zsavage1 listen to heart of a lion, pursuit of happiness, up up and away and man on the moon when you're feeling down, and then tell me how he is arrogant. there is a fine line between arrogance and self confidence that is oft misunderstood. Cudi teaches people that they can achieve everything they want if they try their hardest to remain true to themselves - not that they WILL achieve everything if they put no effort in whatsoever. Modern music can be soulful too, thats my point.

  • talk about arrogant and lewdness.. Kid Cudi is right in there with the rest of them.. @Aduhig11

  • I'm 18 years old, and I love this song. I love the message it spreads, that to embrace and deal with our problems, we must embrace each other. And I miss this message. Too often in modern music, it is shallow, spreading violence, lewdness and arrogance. But, if there is anyone looking for social inspiration through modern music, there is hope. Listen to Kid Cudi. You don't have to be on drugs as many of his followers would have you believe, to see the good in his music, and yourself.
