Nick Jonas reveals the scariest moment of his life

"Joe was My Guardian Angel that day..."
'There's a reason Nick says "Don't ever take a day for granted." That's because after a serious car accident a few years back, Nick feels lucky every day just to be alive. In fact, thinking back to that day and the angel that saved him- Nick can't help but get emotional about it. "My family and I were driving back from South Carolina to New Jersey and me and my brothers were all in the backseat sleeping," Nick recalls. "It was pretty early, around 8am." What happened next no one could predict. Joe recalls, "It was crazy, because I was sleeping and then I just woke up with this 'huh?' feeling and I put on my glasses. Right when I put on my glasses, I turned around to see Nick behind me in the minivan and all of a sudden, I see the front of a truck that had wings on it, coming at us through the back windshield. So I grabbed Nick, pulled him to me and just tried to shield him." Thanks to Joe's quick thinking, Nick was left unharmed as the truck (filled with 80,000 pounds of lumber) crashed into them. "Joe was my guardian angel that day," Nick tells M. "There was glass everywhere and the truck hit us, but Joe saved me from getting hit by the impact." More than that the family was amazed that they weren't more hurt from the accident. "There definitely were Guardian angels with us that day," Kevin explains. "Even though the truck smacked us, it hit us in the perfect spot and we didn't spin out. There was glass everywhere but we had all of our luggage in the trunk, and that stopped the impact. We were shocked, but no one was in critical condition."
While the Jonases walked away with no broken bones, they were cut up from the glass. "Joe's hands were bleeding, but he was OK." Nick says. "Our spines were out of whack and we saw a chiropractor, but it could've been much worse." For all three boys, the experience strengthened their bond. It's a day they'll never forget. "I'm forever thankful to Joe, and feel lucky that we all made it out OK," Nick says.
