My full run of Thunder Force II Hard mode for the Sega Genesis. This is NOT a No Miss run but very close to one. Be sure to Check out my Sheild Ressurection trick on Stage 9..lol and Yes that trick works on the Horizontal stages too....:)
No cheats no saves not tool assisted.
Thunder Force II actually was made in 1988 for a computer system named Sharp X68000. This game is a port of the Sharp X68000 version and is the second version to the orginal with missing stages backgrounds and voices. But this version has better weapons (IMO).

(Note Video contains the correct aspec ratio 4:3 and the correct Interlacing)

  • Hard to believe I beat this game as a kid. Since I lost all my games over the years, I picked this cart up for a few bucks at my local gaming store. I SUCK at this game now!

  • @rojman123 I believe this to be one of the harder TF games. At least you beat it most people can't do that... If I start playing it today I would not fair as well as I did in the video because I don't play all the time....

  • Thunder Force 2 allows you to beat it on Normal difficulty, but not Training. No need to set it to hard in either the JP or US version.

  • @MrGameSack I believe only certain roms do. I had the original rom back in 89 and if you played it on normal it would allow you to get to stage 8 then the game would start all over again. Even the emulator rom I am playing here in this video would do the exact same thing. ( I tried it....lol)

  • @kirgeez That's definitely interesting. I bought the game at launch in 89 and I was able to get the ending with normal.

  • @MrGameSack Yeah so do I (well my dad he actually bought it). Even the manual stated that that game could not be beat unless it was on hard.... I guess It's another excuse to make another video....lol

  • @kirgeez I checked today and you are correct!! You complete the game on normal you just cant start on stage 5 if you want to complete the game...

  • @kirgeez Just checked out my manual and it is kind of odd what it says. It says that I won't be able to play level 5 on NORMAL, but I can select level 5 and play it right away even on TRAINING. But on TRAINING I can only play 1 level, but on Normal I can play all levels (maybe it means I need to start from level 1-4 in order to play all levels on NORMAL). According to the scorebook in the back, I first beat it in 11-26-1989. :)

  • @egg64 no miss always means no deaths in shooting game terminology =P

  • I have an X68000,the graphics, music and sound effects very well.
