actually it is the other way around!Latvians became a part of the German SS because the red army pillage Latvian lands, homes, killed civilians and stole everything that was worth stealing. Whet Hitler wanted the Latvians to attack USA, France and Great Britain they refused.

as german embassador in moscow wrote:
