This is from my HS senior recital that I did with my friend Emily Rew (her pieces are available on here as well) and this is finally my second recording of this song. This one was recorded on May 18, 2008, while the other was recorded November 1, 2007. Hopefully there are some differences. This is the one my accompanist practiced haha, you have to feed your accompanist well to get them to play it at this tempo! Thank you Caleb!! Anyway I love this song, and I STILL don't sing my french vowels bright enough. Imperfect, but enjoy!

also: I now study private voice at the Peabody Conservatory and major in International Relations at the Johns Hopkins University.

  • wow the panist must have been scared because that is lighting speed... OMG. but good.

  • @ClassicalKaren haha I was just having a race with Rene Fleming! I admire her so much for he accuracy and speed in this piece and was just trying to see if I had it in me too, the older version I have up here is slower

  • Wow! You are amazing. I'm doing this song for a competition and was looking for an example...then this came up! Incredible! How old are you in this?

  • I was seventeen during this recital

  • and this tempo i find is too fast. it felt rushed. much better job on the diction though! Good Job!

  • not gonna lie, it's a lot more fun to sing it faster... but I have to agree it sounds rushed. I think it could be performed that fast though and still be ok, it would just take a little more than what I gave it, dynamic and support wise

  • This was the fastest French song I ever learned, but the best. It's an all state piece, and I agree., I love that song!

And your French vowels are very good. Mine isn't that well, mostly cuz I only had 10 days to learn it.

    Congrats! :)

  • Didn't know you are into Opera!!! Awesome!

  • This was awesome but I think you could've dragged the Laa at 1:00 in the low note for longer which is beautiful when done so :)

  • Wow once my teacher made me sing this since I'm a tenor.

  • make sure your lower notes are supported.

    overall, a nice performance.

I don't know if I would agree with the tempo choice but bravo to you.

  • this one was excellent :) congratulations :)
